The se² partnership is a regional social enterprise support organisation based in the South East and registered as a company limited by guarantee.
Our model is unique, formed 'bottom-up' by a network of local and regional third sector support organisations and government bodies, some of whom had been working together informally for a number of years. Brought together formally in 2005 by SEEDA, under the Cultural Shift programme, with the aim of developing a more long-term framework to support the social enterprise sector. With on-going financial investment from SEEDA local stakeholder-based networks could access specific social enterprise support and, working in collaboration with regional networks and other partners, this support has evolved into the se² partnership - becoming the 'network of networks' throughout the South East.
The partnership incorporated in January 2008 and South East Social Enterprise Ltd (trading as se² partnership) was born.
Today, the we are the regional 'hub' co-ordinating and supporting social enterprise development, providing a regional voice for the sector and an essential link for the social enterprise networks in the region. Our model remains unique, with strategic direction being set by a proactive voluntary board who continue to work with SEEDA and others to develop strategies and deliver support that address pertinent economic and policy issues.
